More than 50 students, activists and academics discussed the orginal Working Women's Charter of 1974, struggles for equal pay and working conditions, and why only 4 of the original 10 demands have been met today. Speakers and participants then worked in small groups to propose new demands – creating a new Working Women's Charter for the 21st century. The conference was organised by H&P, convened by Professor Pam Cox, of Essex University, and held at King's College London.
