Virginia Berridge, Professor of History and Director of the Centre for History in Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, was invited to speak at the launch of Alcohol Research UK, a new charity dedicated to research into the causes of excessive drinking and how it can be prevented.
