OU OpenTALKS: British imperialist visions of Islamic states

3 April 2019 - 16:30 pm - 17:30 pm

Online

The Open University is running a series of short online public lectures in 2019 focussed on the ways that our view of the past and the present interact. Previous lectures, and livestreams, are available on the OU Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences YouTube channel.

Dr John Slight's talk will explain how Britain’s imperial attempts to manipulate Islam in the nineteenth century ultimately failed.
